TRANSPARENCY STATEMENT AND CORE VALUES
In transparency, please see the fundamental beliefs that Hamesh holds and uses as the basis of their work.
If these values do not align with you, we may not be a good fit, as we ask that all clients and partners of Hamesh respect the values and methods listed below.
The Hamesh team would be happy to point you to similar services that might align more closely with your needs.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at ec@hameshdaac.com
We particularly appreciate any concerns you may have if you feel that the Hamesh team is not living up to the values below.
trans women are women, trans men are men, LGBTQIA+ rights are human rights, and queer folks have always existed. Queerness is not inherently white or western, nor should representations of queerness continue to center white and westernized norms. Hamesh seeks to push past binaries and navigate systems and solutions with this framework in mind.
white supremacy exists and, particularly in the United States, has been perpetuated throughout our systems of healthcare and beyond in conjunction with capitalism, ableism, and the other systems that work to keep folks tired. Hamesh seeks to question orgs, businesses, and beyond while dismantling systems of oppression, both in the work done and the internal systems in place. The Hamesh team also prioritizes challenging our own internal biases and harmful actions/beliefs, community care, and accountability through restorative practices.
where we work, live, and create community is on the unceded land of the first people of Seattle, The Duwamish People, past and present. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe, as well as all other lands forcefully and non-consensually colonized by white supremacist systems.
anti-ableist approaches are prioritized within our work. For every “problem” we seek to build a co-created solution that thinks outside of boxes and meets your needs. Mental health is health. Ability is temporary. We all need and deserve accommodations. It is that simple.
transparency in regard to our own biases, limits, and needs at Hamesh are a high priority. We ask as you work with us that you prioritize the same. Give us the full picture in your intake/consultation. We are here to help you but struggle to do so when we do not have all pieces of the informational puzzle. Hamesh is a judgement free space and is not interested in policing or negating your experience.
radical care and kindness are important to us and within that we hope to prioritize boundaries, clear communication, and trauma informed techniques in all that we do. We ask the same of you.
all team members at Hamesh seek to practice each of these tenants at all times in their own personal life and prioritize rest when needed to avoid burn out. We operate on “neurodivergent time” and pivot when necessary. We fully believe that if we do not “practice what we preach” then our work can only be half as effective.
At no point will these facts (and others of their kind) be up for debate. When utilizing these Hamesh services, clients and partners are expected to do the same and Hamesh reserves the right to terminate services without refund if these values are not upheld in action, words, or care. Clients and partners will receive at least one warning before they are no longer able to participate in the Hamesh network.
Bias Disclaimer: The Hamesh team is currently a team of two with the hopes of expanding in the future.
The team includes: EC (they/he) is a white, Ashkenazi Jew (anti Zionist), Disabled, queer, and neurodivergent educator, organizer, and advocate and JB (they/them) is a white, Hispanic, Cajun, Disabled, queer and neurodivergent educator in community space building and queer studies.
This expansion will prioritize other voices beyond our own that may have more diverse and intersectional understandings. Pending expansion, rest assured that the Hamesh team consults often with folks who have experiences beyond our own identities and always will take feedback on any matters in regard to this.
